Was ist Trailrunning?

Trail running means running off-road – on forest paths, mountain trails, and alpine terrain. It combines endurance, technique, experiencing nature, and mental strength.

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Trailrunning und Traillauf?

The terms are mostly used synonymously.
Traillauf is more commonly used in German-speaking countries, while Trailrunning is the internationally used term.

Is trail running also suitable for beginners?

Yes, absolutely. Trail running is suitable for all levels. As a running coach, I adapt the pace, distance, and technique to your current fitness level. A safe and sustainable start is always my priority.

What is the difference between 1:1 coaching and community runs?

1:1 running coaching

  • Individual & goal-oriented

  • Personal training plan

  • Ideal for progress & competitions

Community Runs

  • Together & relaxed

  • No pressure to perform

  • Exchange & enjoyment of trail running

Both can be ideally combined.

How does a 1:1 running coaching session work?

After initial contact, we will clarify:

  • Your current level

  • Your goals in trail running or trail running

  • Time, region and scope of the coaching

Based on this, I will design your personal running coaching program.

Wird auch Utratrail-Coaching angeboten?

Yes. I'm happy to share my experience from participating in ultratrail races with you, and together we can develop targeted running coaching for ultratrails, including longer distances and elevation gain training.

Gibt es auch Angebote für Wanderer?

Yes. Many trails can also be explored on foot. We'll adjust the length and elevation gain together to suit your needs.

Was bedeutet "Laufe nid Lafere"?

"Laufe nid Lafere" is Bernese German and means: Don't talk - but do (run) .

This attitude is precisely what characterizes the running coaching at Lafere.ch.

Does Lafere.ch also sell running accessories?

Yes. In the online shop you'll find practical running shirts, headbands, and caps with the individual Lafere.ch logo. Customizations (design, color) are always possible. Take a look!

⛰️ Training & Requirements

Do I need to be very fit to start trail running?

No. A basic running foundation is sufficient. We'll develop the rest together – step by step.

Do we also train uphill and downhill?

Yes. Uphill and downhill techniques are key elements in trail running. I'll show you how to run efficiently, safely, and with control on varied terrain.

Where do coaching and community runs take place?

Mainly in:

  • Valais

  • Bernese Oberland

I choose the trails to suit the destination, the time of year, and your skill level.

🎒 Equipment & Safety

What equipment do I need for trail running?

To get started, the following is sufficient:

  • Trail running shoes

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Drinking system (depending on duration)

In the coaching session, I give you concrete recommendations – without unnecessary equipment stress.

Is trail running safe?

Yes, with the right approach, an appropriate pace, and experience. As a running coach, I place great emphasis on safety, personal responsibility, and respect for nature.
